Licensed and based out of Amherst, Virginia, Len’s Furniture Repair is a wood repair and mobile touch-up service for cabinetry, antiques and contemporary furniture. Whether you're near my home base or anywhere in the Central Virginia, you can expect the same level of friendly service and expert guidance.

Wood furniture adds warmth and character to any home. However, scratches, dents, and marks that occur from regular use can detract from the charm of the piece. I can fill gouges, re-color dents, touch up worn corners, and buff out water stains and scratches— No job is too small!

Furniture gets used and abused with regular use over time. Joints loosen, veneer separates, parts break, and chunks of wood go missing. I can re-glue loose joinery with modern adhesives, stabilize existing veneer, rebuild missing veneer, repair breaks, and hand craft the pieces that need recreating. All structural repairs, unless I state otherwise prior to the repairs, carry a lifetime warranty.

Lacquer chips and cracks. Antique oil and shellac finishes wear off, exposing the wood. I can strip the existing finish, enhance the natural color with glaze and toner, and spray a custom tinted clear coat to lock in the formula. All finishes care a five year warrantee.

All estimates are free and flexible according to materials and scheduling. I do not exceed estimates, and if the end cost is less than the estimate, I only charge what it took.

I’m a restorer by trade, specializing in quality repair and refinishing of fine furniture and antiques. My beloved trade proceeded from building cabinet parts at a small, family owned woodshop. Prior to that, I served in the U.S. Army National Guard as a medic in support of an Infantry company.
After learning the foundations of fine woodworking, I was hired by a prominent architectural woodshop, where I built furniture, doors, and stair parts. Wanting to broaden my skill set, I worked during the night at a furniture restoration shop. There, I found a passion for restoring not just the physical piece, but also its’ history.
From then on, I poured myself into hundreds of restoration projects while working alongside master craftsmen in the trade. I mastered basic repair techniques and applied a variety of refinishing formulas. In 2024, I established Len’s Furniture Repair, where I continued servicing my community’s antiques and family heirlooms.
